Sapele Veneer

Sapele veneer is an African hardwood often substituted for South American mahogany.  It is deep pinkish-red brown to a darker rusty brown in color. The wood is easy to work with and strong, with a satiny texture, tight uniform grain and consistent color. It accepts stains and finishes well to accentuate the grain’s luster.

WiseWood’s sapele veneer products include flexible sheets and edge banding. The veneer sheets are available in multiple size and backer options, including easy applying 3M™ PSA peel and stick. The edge banding is available unfinished with a pre-glue or fleeceback option. This African hardwood is also available as a special order in more backer options.
