Alder Veneer

Alder veneer is a light pink to reddish toned wood that darkens with age.  The rustic, knotty sheets contain sound knots and other defects. Alder is an easy to work with hardwood. It is strong, with a satiny, fine texture and tight uniform grain and color. The grain has a slight figure or flashing. Sometimes there is a color variance between flitches. It accepts stains and finishes well but is preserved best with a clear coat.

WiseWood’s alder veneer products include flexible sheets and edge banding. The veneer sheets come available in multiple cuts, sizes, and backer options, including 3M™ PSA. The edge banding comes unfinished and is available in pre-glued and fleeceback options.
