Description
Rotary poplar veneer, also known as whole piece poplar wood veneer or rotary cut spliced poplar veneer is typically a pale cream to a green tinged light yellow color wood with patches of green and occasional purple streaks. It is available in 4′ x 8′ sheets in FlexVen™ 10 and FlexVen™ 20 paper backed sheets with a PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) option. Poplar wood veneer is also available in a 4′ x 10′ size and with the Tuf-Pli™ polyback and Pli-Flex™ wood on wood backer options as special order.
It is a typically a whole piece veneer face but can be spliced and have some seams or splice lines, with the grain running along the 8’ dimension. Rotary cut poplar wood veneer commonly allows for some defects such as occasional pin knots, mineral streaks and irregular grain patterns. Poplar is a hardwood of medium density, easy to work with and strong. It has a smooth texture, tight uniform grain and a satiny sheen. Rotary cut poplar veneer will accept stains and finishes well and is often stained with bold colors or to mimic other species.
