Description
African mahogany veneer is a nice pinkish brown to reddish brown medium grain wood with excellent staining and finishing qualities. Flat cut mahogany veneer has well defined cathedrals and lustrous grain. It will accept stains and finishes well which accentuate the grain’s natural luster.
Standard A grade flat cut African mahogany veneer commonly allows for some small defects such as occasional pin knots and small grain deflections. It is usually book matched with the grain running along the 8’ dimension. It is an African hardwood of medium density that is often used as a substitute for South American mahogany. It is easy to work with and strong, with a moderately coarse texture, slightly porous grain and consistent color.
