Description
Cherry wood veneer, also known as flat cut cherry or flat cut American cherry, is typically a warm pinkish to red toned wood that ages to a nice reddish brown color. It is available in 4′ x 8′, 4′ x 10′ and 8′ x 4′ sizes as FlexVen™ 10 and FlexVen™ 20 paper backed, Tuf-Pli™ polyback, Pli-Flex™ wood on wood or cross grain veneer sheets with a PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) option.
It is usually book matched with the grain running along the 8’ dimension. Standard A grade cherry wood veneer commonly allows for some defects such as occasional pin knots and small dark resin spots known as gum pockets. Cherry is a hardwood that is easy to work with and strong, with a satiny texture and tight uniform grain. Another common grain characteristic is slight figure or flashing. This veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is usually finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural color.
