Description
Clear white pine veneer, also known as flat cut white pine wood veneer or northern clear pine veneer is typically pale yellow or light brown amber to a creamy white color that ages to deep golden yellow. It is available in 2′ x 8′, 4′ x 8′ and 4′ x 10′ sizes as FlexVen™ 10 and FlexVen™ 20 paper backed, Tuf-Pli™ polyback or Pli-Flex™ wood on wood veneer sheets with a PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) option.
It is usually book matched with the grain running along the 8’ dimension. Clear white pine wood veneer commonly allows for some defects such as small pin knots and occasional pitch pockets. Clear pine is a softwood that is lightweight and relatively easy to work with. It has a satiny, fine texture and an alternating tight and porous grain. Another common characteristic of clear white pine veneer is a well defined cathedral by a variegated lighter springwood and darker summerwood combination. Clear white pine wood veneer will accept stains and finishes but may require conditioning if a uniform color is desired. A clear coat finish will preserve the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural color.
